Leslie Senevey has been the co-director of Dance Concept for more than 25 years and has taught for the studio since 1983. She and Debbi Jo created the award-winning Dance Concept Competition Team from the ground up in 1991 and continue to lead the team as co-directors. Leslie has taught and choreographed for a variety of master classes, workshops and camps in Texas and Oklahoma including recent work for Fort Worth Country Day School, Trinity Valley School, and the Gladney Center’s Blossoms in the Dust Style Show. She has been rewarded with more than 20 choreography awards from regional and national dance competitions including Star Systems, Move, Legacy, Primetime, Hall of Fame, Starbound and others. But she is most proud of the long (and growing) list of former Dance Concept students who have gone on to become successful working dance professionals in the film, television, stage, touring and dance company worlds.
Mary Onuoha has been a hip hop teacher for 9 years and has always had a strong passion for dance. Mary began with her training at Dance Concept, where she trained in all dance styles. in 2007, she receive the Dance Concept Directors' Award for her contribution to the studio. Her start as a professional dancer began with dancing at Six Flags in the show "Funk Nation" in 2007. She also joined the contemporary company "Groupo Pakal" at that time where they performed regularly at the Dallas World Aquarium. Mary was the president of her dance team at the University of North Texas. She Performed on BET's live television show 106 & Park. Mary was a red carpet runway dancer for rapper Drake at his Super Bowl Party in 2011. In 2015 Mary opened up for rapper, Rick Ross. She was a dance teacher at Denton High School in 2010-11, and also taught at several studios through the metroplex.
In 2014, Mary founded an urban hip hop crew named Motiv8 Allstars. MOTIV8 was a very successful, including winning crowd favorite in the 2014 Dallas Hip Hop Dance Festival, and being featured in a Music Video forJosh Groban. Motiv8 danced at Tcu half time football games, in several music videos, and at hip hop competitions in the metroplex. Mary is dedicated to enriching other kids with the same passion for dance that she has. She works towards training dancers to perform from their hearts and teaches them to work hard in order to have a strong foundation and persistant discipline.
